Waleed Al Banawi is the Founder and Chairman of JISR LLC. JISR aims to provide a variety of solutions and innovative ideas for delivering 21st century skills and career readiness for Arab youth. Al Banawi has spent over 25 years with the Banawi Industrial Group in various key senior corporate positions, last being Group Vice Chairman. His deep commitment to social investment is reflected in his active participation and leadership in several social and educational organizations and initiatives, including serving as Regional MENA Chairman for the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) 2009-2011; Vice Chairman Supervisory Board Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2006-2009); Founding member Advisory Board at Jeddah Community College; Director, Education for Employment Foundation (Global Board); Director INJAZ (Junior Achievement) Saudi Arabia; Member, Scientific Advisory Board – Arab Regional Agenda on Improving Education Quality – (ALECSO); Founding member, Arab-American Educational Foundation, Houston, (AAEF); Member, The Chief Executives Organization, CEO; Member of the INternational Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London.
Al Banawi spearheaded in April 2008 the “Next Generation Conference” (NGC) covering topics such as the youth bulge, and educational and employment challenges facing the Arab World, which was held in Amman, Jordan under the patronage of Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. In addition, Al Banawi was a presidential delegate from Saudi Arabia to attend the U.S. Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington D.C. in April 2010. He is also a frequent conference speaker on the subject of Education to Employment challenge in the Arab World and Strategic Philanthropy.
